Scan your images easily into 64bit/ 48bit HDR (i) RAW data format, which contains any ascertainable image information. SilverFast HDR is then used to process the raw data in the HDR file. SilverFast HDR is the ideal complement to SilverFast scanner software.
Interface is ugly but the results are beautiful. Side note, SilverFast and Color Perfect are both German. I went back to lightroom, still couldn’t see the profiles… So I loaded a DNG into Lightroom, went through the Update VueScan/Silverfast DNG process, converted the negative - and then the colours went completely bonkers… really dark, with just a few visible highlights… Completely trashed the image… Stage 3 Alternative (A) Use SilverFast HDR in Negative Mode, not Photoshop, to Process the Image: (16A) Implement Step (15) by doing Stage 1 steps (2) to (9) inclusive, except in Step (7) change the Transparency type to Negative, and in Step 9, select 48-bit Color. Now it’s working in Lightroom - but the only things I’ve done since it not working is: File size: 198 MB SilverFast HDR Studio image processing software has a full range of features that meet the high demands for image optimization and RAW. I couldn’t figure out why Camera RAW in Photoshop would open the DNG file and happily display the 'Negative Lab v2.1" profile without saying it couldn’t be found, but lightroom couldn’t… Ill explain each of these latter two options in a moment, but for now we will concentrate on whether to scan into. SilverFast can also produce two types of batch scan, 'fully automatic correction', or 'manual correction'. Ok - This is really really bizarre… I was trying all last night and this morning to get this to work… SilverFast can batch scan directly into Photoshop or save each image to file, the latter choice is actually the better.
